If you live in or are visiting San Francisco, you are out of luck if you want a miniature golf course in the city. Seems like there should be at least one place, say, South of Market or in the Castro, where you can mini golf till midnight. Right? But no. However, venture outside the city limits and you’ll find a number of options for your miniature golfing good time, even if not until midnight.
Golf n Games: Antioch
Golf n Games at 501 Auto Center Drive in Antioch is one of the closest miniature golf courses to San Francisco. They offer two 18-hole courses with a view of their pond, batting cages, go karts, birthday parties and group rates. Adults golf for $7.50 and kids ages 5 to 11 golf for $6, while those under 5 golf for free with a paying adult.
This place has a crazy, ever-changing schedule so check the website or call because they are serious about their holiday schedule. They do stay open until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights during the spring and summer, but don’t open until 3pm during the week and close at 9pm most nights. They’re closed Mondays and Tuesdays, unless it’s a holiday and then they are open from 11am to 9pm.
Malibu Grand Prix: Redwood City
Malibu Grand Prix at 320 and 340 Blomquist Street in Redwood City definitely has miniature golf, but they’ve got a ton of other stuff, too: batting cages, bumper boats, a game room, the grand prix, turbo go karts and a pizza parlor. They are open every day of the week: Monday through Thursday from noon to 9pm, Friday from noon to 11pm, Saturday from 10am to 11pm and Sunday from 10am until 9pm.
Adults golf for $7.99 and kids under 12 golf for $6.99. There are tons of special combo deals online as well as discounts for special things, like free tokens for good grades and golf games for only $3.50 if you show up the first hour of the day.
Golf Land: San Jose, Sunnyvale, Castro Valley, Milpitas
I couldn’t talk about miniature golf in the San Francisco Bay Area without mentioning Golf Land. This company is like an SF Bay Area mini golf conglomerate with locations in San Jose, Sunnyvale, Castro Valley and Milpitas. This place has everything: child care and day camps, a VIP club that offers discounts, group packages, birthday parties, an arcade and the ability to purchase tickets online. Hours change seasonally so check the website before you go. And here, you can golf until midnight on Friday and Saturday nights at certain locations. Children under 4 golf for free, kids golf for $7.50 and adults golf for $8.50, and if you have too much fun on your first 18 holes and simply have to do it again, you can do so for another $3. Tokens for the arcade are priced at 4 for $1 with discounts when you buy large quantities. Some locations offer online deals for golf/ token combos, so check them out before you go!
