5 Stars for Kimura Wear MMA Gloves

If you are shopping for mixed martial arts equipment then you know that there is a wide variety available on the market. One piece of equipment that you are going to have to purchase at some point in your career is a pair of mixed martial arts gloves. I have purchased quite a few pairs of gloves and my general observation is that amongst all of the different pairs of gloves there are really only two basic styles. The first style is like the UFC gloves, a more square type with minimal foam padding and an open circle typpe palm. The other style is like the Fairtex type gloves that afford a bit more padding and rest a bit differently on the wearers hand. If you have ever seen the UFC & Fairtex MMA gloves then you know what I am talking about. If not then check out these two links. For a picture of the UFC gloves go here http://ufcstore.seenon.com/detail.php?p=43528&v=ufc_ufc_equipment&pagemax=all. For a photo of the Fairtex MMA gloves check out this link http://www.fullcontactoutlet.com/fairtex-ultimate-combat-mma-gloves–open-thumb-fg.html. Note the differences in the palm construction.

The Kimura Wear MMA gloves are more closely related to the Fairtex gloves than any other style. I originally purchased these gloves because they were white and I wanted a pair of white MMA gloves like the ones used in bouts overseas. Kimura Wear, a mixed martial arts company based in Canada, was the only company I found selling white mixed martial arts gloves. I ordered my pair from their website www.kimurawear.com and in a week or so I received them. I did not have any problem ordering on their website and was able to pay via Paypal, which was a plus. I also did not have any problems with customs.

I was very excited to get my Kimura Wear gloves. The white really seemed to pop out and had a bit more pizazz than the traditional black mixed martial arts gloves. The white Kimura Wear gloves had the company’s logo, a K, on the knuckles and the wrist band of the gloves. This was another reason I ended up purchasing these gloves, because I did not want some big gaudy logo to parade around. These gloves were the most comfortable pair of mixed martial arts gloves that I had ever purchased. I had recently hurt my hand and wearing my other MMA gloves was very uncomfortable. Just wearing my UFC gloves hurt my hand because they put so much pressure on my knuckles (because they weren’t pre-curved). My first workout with the Kimura Wear gloves was great. I didn’t notice the pain in my hand because the Kimura Wear gloves afforded a bit more padding on the knuckles and had a bit of curve to the glove. These gloves are great for everything from sparring to bag work.

Kimura Wear offers 7 different styles of their MMA pro series gloves and an additional style for women. The pair I ordered was the Pro Series Official 4 ounce gloves (in white). Kimura Wear has recently released an upgraded version of the Pro Series gloves. My favorite feature on the gloves was the way that they sit more forward on the knuckles. The wrist wrap was also very good and didn’t come loose when training. Another great feature about these gloves is that you can either wear them with or without hand wraps and you don’t have to have a different size. They fit great both ways. This isn’t true about my other MMA gloves. If I wanted to wear hand wraps then I needed a larger pair of gloves.

If you are looking for a new pair of mixed martial arts gloves I would highly recommend the Kimura Wear gloves. They are great and affordable. To read a complete description from the company, see photos, or order a pair go to www.kimurawear.com.
