Wedding programs are not really a necessity to have at wedding, but they do give the wedding a nice touch. What is really nice about these wedding programs is that you can make them yourself and it will cost you next to nothing.
To get started making your programs you will need to visit your local stationary store and pick up some decorative stiff card stock. You will also need a computer and a printer. You can use a simple word template to crate your program. Start by putting the bride and grooms name onto the front in big bold letters. You will want to choose a creative font. Be sure to make it large print. Under the two names you can put the date of the wedding in smaller print. Print out what you have typed for the front using regular paper and not the card paper yet. If it looks the way you want it, you will want to put the card stock paper into the printer and print them all out. Once you have finished the outside of the program, you can move onto the inside.
You can delete what you just printed and use the same page to print out the inside of the card. Since the cards will be folded in half you will need to do two separate columns. On one side of the program you will want to put the names of the bride and grooms parents as well as the name of the bridesmaids, and everyone else who is involved n the wedding. You can then change the page that you are working on over to the layout option. You can click on print and then click options. There you will see the option to change the page to landscape. This will allow you more room to print out the two sides of the card. Back on the screen where you entered the names you will want to tab over to the other side of the paper and type in your thanks to those who have attended this special day. Write out the wording first, until you get it just right. Then underneath you can write down the list of events on the wedding day. You can even put the location of the reception just in case anyone forgot. This will also help your guests to know the order of things that will be taking place including when pictures are going to be taken. You can basically put whatever you want in the program. When you are finished typing what you want, you will want to proofread it good. Make sure that you spelled all of the names right. Then you can click print, and use regular paper to print out the middle section. Then using clear glue, you can glue the paper to the inside center of the card. Avoid putting too much glue. You will only want to place glue in the center fold and in the four corners. Make sure that the paper is centered nicely inside the program. Allow it to dry, and then you can set them aside until the day of the wedding. On the day of the wedding you can either have someone hand them out or have them set up on a table with a simple sign that says take one.
