Almonds are a rich source of Vitamin E, protein and magnesium. Vitamin E is a key antioxidant may help fight off the signs of aging by helping protect skin against the damage caused by ultraviolet rays. The oil of almonds contains linoleic acid, a fatty acid that helps soften and moisturize skin. It is no wonder almonds are popular in beauty treatments that cleanse, exfoliate, moisturize, and nourish.

Almond Italian Soda
4 oz almond Italian syrup
4 oz half & half
10 oz club soda
Mix ingredients and serve over ice. Add whipped cream to indulge.
Almond & Bran Body Scrub
½ c finely ground almonds
½ c coarse wheat bran
1 c green tea, hot
10 drops lavender essential oil
Mix almonds and bran together. Add green tea until it makes a paste. Cool. Add lavender oil and mix well. Use once a week.
Almond Kiwi Cleanser
1 kiwi fruit
2 T yogurt
1 T orange water
1 T apricot or almond oil
1 T honey
1 t almonds, finely ground
2 drops orange (or your favorite cirtus) essential oil
Puree the kiwi fruit in a food processor until liquid. During processing, add yogurt, orange water, almond or apricot oil, and ground almonds. Process until thick and creamy. Add essential oil and stir to mix. Massage gently over face, neck and décolleté to cleanse. Rinse well.
Night Time Almond Butter
1 t almond oil
1 c butter
Mix well. Before bed, massage mixture into hands, and then cover with white cotton gloves. Wear all night while sleeping. Will keep in the fridge as long as butter, but mark clearly to avoid eating.
Almond & Cocoa Butter Hand & Foot Crème
1/2 c almonds
1/2 c dry oatmeal
4 T cocoa butter
3 T honey
Process the almonds in a blender or coffee grinder until coarsely ground. In a bowl, combine oatmeal, cocoa butter, honey and ground nuts. Rub into your hands and feet, cover with cotton gloves and socks, and leave on overnight. The next morning, remove the gloves and socks and rinse. You’ll be delighted with your incredibly smooth skin. This remedy is ideal for soothing hard-working hands and feet because it gently exfoliates old, dead skin and nourishes new cells.
Almond Blueberry Oatmeal Mask
This easy mask used once or twice monthly, will both deep clean and exfoliate your face. It’s particularly beneficial for oily skin, as it drying and pulling effect.
1 c oatmeal
1 c blueberries
1 T honey
5-6 almonds, whole
Puree all ingredients in a blender until finely blended. Spread mixture over your face, and allow to set and dry (10-15 minutes). Rinse with warm water, and splash your skin with cool water or toner. This mask be may stored in your refrigerator for up to one week, covered tightly.
