The following is a list of the best adventure TV series past and present.
1. Quantum Leap
Quantum Leap was one of those unique and one in a lifetime shows that gave us everything in a show. It was about a scientist who discovered a way to time travel, but this show had a twist. Instead of doing the usual time travel scenario’s, this show did it different. Sam, played by Scott Bakula, time traveled by way of his lifetime. He could only time travel within the limits of his life. It was one of those shows that you hoped that Sam would eventually find a way home. In the series finale, you were given the idea that Sam may have or may not have. They left it open in case there was to be a movie made or a reunion made.
Richard Dean Anderson played the man for all seasons, MacGyver, who, if he had some sort of tiny wire or so forth, could get out of any situation. He worked for the government and helped people get out of situations that no one else could get out of. He had a lot of adventures through this series run.
3. Hercules : The Legendary Journeys
Starring Kevin Sarbo as Hercules, the half human, half God, son of Zeus. Hercules had a lot of adventures throughout the seasons that it was on, helping those who needed it and trying to do good deeds and so forth. Hercules founded another series called Xena: Warrior Princess.
4. Lois & Clark: Adventures of Superman
Lois & Clark was the adult television show that told the story of Superman, Lois and their adventures living in Metropolis. Similar to Smallville, but this show told the story of Clark and his alter ego living in Metropolis, working for the Daily Planet, and saving people as Superman. This also told the story of Lois Lane, played by Teri Hatcher, who was the star reporter and also the love of Clark’s life.
V was a show about aliens from outer space who came to Earth in peace but was actually on a mission to eat us. V was a miniseries at first then was made into a television series and told the story of the rebels fighting against the aliens.
CSI was about Crime Scene Investigators who were sent to scenes of murder and mayhem to find details of what happened and try to solve the cases. There are three series, the original CSI, CSI: Miami, and CSI: NY. All these series try to find the evidence and get the culprit.
7. Seaquest DSV
Seaquest was about mankind who wanted to explore the last known area that had not been explored, the seas. So the crew each week, would be on their underwater ship exploring the world of the oceans and so forth.
8. Star Trek
Besides the action that was involved in this series, there was tons of adventure. Flying through space or being situated on a space station, this series went where no man or no one ever went before. They would find adventure anywhere and everywhere they went. Star Trek was a phenomenon that has survived over 40 years on television. Just recently the series has been revived with a new Star Trek series with a new crew.
9. Knight Rider (The original)
David Hasselhoff starred as Michael Knight who risked danger each week with going after the bad guys with his talking car that could do some amazing things. One man can make a difference. A former police officer who was almost killed, but revived by Wilton Knight so he could go after the bad guys and bring them to justice.
The A-Team was a bunch of former military men and a reporter who were on the run and while they were on the run, they would help those who asked for their help. It was a lot of action, violence and adventure as these men would clean up the town that they were asked to help.
