All of the specialized classes in Killzone 2 have their own unique abilities that can’t be transferred over. These default abilities will determine your strategy and play style in the online multiplayer mode of Killzone 2. So which default ability stands above the rest? Let’s rank them.
6. Medic’s Revive
The medic’s revive ability can bring any teammates on the ground (provided they are still moving) back to life. Although it gives you extra points, this ability isn’t all that effective. This is because most of your teammates would rather die and re-spawn in a totally new area with a full clip of ammunition. Not to mention that you will also leave yourself open to enemy attack when reviving.
5. Assault’s Body Armor
The assault is the most powerful class in Killzone 2. His body armor, which gives him double the amount of armor from every other class, is not one of the reasons why. The armor doesn’t protect against headshots, so you will still die instantly. Not to mention that if some one attacks you from behind, you still have little chance at survival even with the extra armor.
4. Engineer’s Deployable Sentry Turret
The engineer’s default ability is only as good as its placement. With the right place (usually on high grounds or in tight corridors), the sentry turrets can rack up kills for you. Therefore, you will get extra points without lifting a finger. The only real drawback is that each team is only limited to four simultaneously turrets. So make you don’t have too many engineers on your team.
3. Scout’s Cloak
The scout’s cloak will completely turn you invisible. You can literally play through an entire match without getting killed using this ability. However, you can be exposed if you move around while cloaked. Not to mention that if the enemy gets close enough, he can identify you. Otherwise, cloak is certainly one of the best default abilities in Killzone 2.
2. Saboteur’s Disguise
As good as the cloak ability is, it holds no candle to the saboteur’s disguise. This ability basically makes you look like an enemy. They only way they could tell the difference is by looking at the radar or when they get close enough to identify you. By then, it will probably be too late for them to react. With disguise, you will almost always have the initiative against the enemy.
1. Tactician’s Deployable Spawn Area
While the above abilities are nice, they do not really impact the overall teamwork require to win a match. For that reason, the tactician’s deployable spawn area is the ultimate default ability in Killzone 2. This ability allows you to set alternative spawn points on anywhere on the battlefield. By placing these near mission objectives, your team can often overwhelm the enemy. In fact, winning a round in Killzone 2 is often determined by effective tacticians.
