Two of the best games in recent years will be bundled together. BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle is coming out on July 7th.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was first released on the PC and Xbox 360 in March 20, 2006. It was the sequel to the cult hit The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind on the PC and original Xbox. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion is developed by Bethesda Softworks and co-published by 2K Games
For many, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was the first mega hit title in the high-definition era. The role-playing game offered a next-generation experience with beautiful visuals and non-linear, open-ended gameplay that features many sandbox elements. You can literally spend hundreds of hours exploring the massive world of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion on the PC and Xbox 360. The game was a critical success with AAA scores across the board and numerous Game of the Year awards from numerous publications.
The other game in the bundle is BioShock. The title came out on the PC and Xbox 360 in August 21, 2007. At that time, many wouldn’t thought BioShock would come to the Playstation 3, especially with the “Only on Xbox 360 and Windows” label on the initial box art. However, it was eventually released on the Playstation 3 on October 21, 2008. BioShock on the PC and Xbox 360 was developed by both 2K Boston and 2K Australia. The Playstation 3 version was handled by 2K Marin.
BioShock is the spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed System Shock 2. The game sports one of the most memorable settings in video game history with the underwater city of Rapture. Furthermore, the unique first-person shooting gameplay is also blended with several role-playing elements like plasmids (or magic) in addition to skill and weapon upgrades. Like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, BioShock was critically acclaimed and captured numerous Game of the Year awards.
2K Games and Bethesda Softworks will be bringing the two classic titles together with the BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle. Together both games have gotten more than 80 Game of the Year awards in 2006 (The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion) and 2007 (BioShock).
The new package will retail for $29.99 on the PC and $39.99 on the Xbox 360. The reason for the price difference has to do with the licensing fee publishers need to pay in order to sell their games on the Xbox 360.
Even then, the BioShock and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle is quite a bargain for two classic games. Look for the package on store shelves on July 7th.
