You’ve picked up your box of Godiva chocolates. You’ll make a Carrot Cocktail Slush and relax because Beauty Night has arrived.
Carrots are packed with essential nutrients, antioxidants, and beta-carotene. Carrots can help improve the condition and appearance of the skin. They are rich in Vitamins A and Vitamin E. Carrots help to increase circulation that helps retard the process of ageing by fighting the formation of wrinkles, increasing the skin’s elasticity, and repairing and toning the skin’s texture.
Only make as much as you need for one treatment, unless otherwise instructed. These recipes do not contain chemicals to prevent the natural ingredients from souring.
Carrot Cocktail Slush
3 oz pineapple juice
½ c pineapple, crushed
1 carrot, chopped (or 1/3 c fresh carrot juice)
1 shot Grand Marnier
Blend until slushy. Serve in a highball glass.
Carrot Parsley Brandy Astringent
2 large carrots, grated or 1/4 c fresh-pressed carrot juice
a handful of parsley
1/4 c brandy
1 t glycerine (optional)
Using a blender or food processor, grate carrots and chopped parsley. Add brandy and blend until pureed. Pour puree into a cloth-lined strainer place over a bowl. Gather cloth ends and squeeze all liquid out. Pour juice into a container with a tight fitting lid. Shake before using.
Carrot & Avocado Hair Pack
1 large carrot, grated
Olive oil, to cover
Put grated carrot in a glass measuring cup. Cover with olive oil. Put the measuring cup in a pan of boiling water. Cook for 1 hour and strain. Mix the carrot oil with a mashed ripe avocado. Let cool enough to apply with fingers to the scalp. After 1 hour, rinse off.
1 carrot, grated
2 T safflower oil
½ t lemon juice or apple cider vinegar
½ t kelp powder
1 egg yolk, beaten
Grate carrot into plastic bowl. Add the other ingredients, except the egg yolk . Mix well and let the mixture sit for 10 minutes. Add the beaten egg yolk. Dab mixture on your clean face. After 20 minutes, wash it off with tepid water.
Carrot Cure for Oily Skin
3 T honey
Cook the carrots in boiling water. Put them in a blender with honey. Blend until the mixture is smooth. Spread the mixture onto face and neck. After 20 minutes, rinse with warm water.
Carrot Acne Mask
½ c carrot pulp
Steam carrots and mash into a pulp. Add enough powdered milk to form a paste. Blend until the mixture is smooth and no longer pasty. Apply to face. After 20 minutes, wash off with warm water.
