Do you enjoy listening to comics that share their funny stories and their humorous outlooks on life? Do you enjoy humor that is family-friendly, and not full of raunchy language or disrespectful put-downs of others? Are you looking for comedy that is positive in nature and does not wallow in vulgarity or profanity? Here is some information on several very funny comics you may not be aware of, who have been making audiences laugh for many years.
Mark Lowry is originally from Houston, Texas, and has been entertaining audiences for 40 years, since he was 11 years old. He is not only a very funny man, he is also an accomplished singer and has been a part of the Gaither Vocal Band for many years. He also wrote the lyrics to the Christmas song, “Mary, Did You Know?”
Mark has released six comedy and music videos; four have reached Gold status, and two Platinum. His “Mark Lowry on Broadway” release debuted at #1 on the Billboard music and video chart and remained there for 5 weeks. His last video release was “Mark Lowry Goes to Hollywood,” in September of 2005. His latest music CD is “Life Gets Loud.” He also appears on many of the Gaither Homecoming videos.
In looking at his available material online, I was surprised to not see any mention of his comedy CD, “20 Stories Tall.” The first time I listened to this CD was in my car, and I almost had to pull over to the side of the road, I was laughing so hard! His stories about his teacher, Miss Barth, were just riotously funny, as well as his stories of his family.
