The first time you open your Cool Page program, you will be presented with the page properties box. This is where you setup your background, website name, and more. If you closed the box out when you opened Cool Page, you can open it again by clicking Edit > Page. That will open the Page Properties box again. Setting up your page properties for your website should be the first thing you do. In this tutorial, I will show you how to setup your page properties in Cool Page.
There are four tabs in your properties box on Cool Page. The four tabs are General, Background, Links, and Hidden. We will take a look at each tab and I will explain what you need to put in each field.
General Page Properties
Title – This is where you enter the title of your website. This title will appear in the top bar of your web browser.
Description – This is your description of your website. Also known as the meta. Fill in these fields so people can easily find your website when doing a search for something that relates to your website.
Alignment – There are two boxes for this section. This is telling Cool Page how to align your website in the browser. Drop the two boxes down and make your selection.
Default Text Color – If you do not assign a color to text, it will use the default color. By default, the default color is black. If you wish to change that, click the color tab and select another color.
Background Page Properties
Background Color – If you want to use a solid color for your background, click the color box and select the color you want to use.
Use Image – If you want to use an image for the background, tick the Background Image box and browse for your image on your computer that you want to use. Then open it.
Background Sound – You can choose to add background sounds to your webpage if you want. If you add background sounds, it will slow the loading of your page down. But if you want to use them, tick the On box under Sound. Then browse for the sound you want to play. You can then adjust the volume of the sound and how long it will play.
Link Page Properties
Normal Link – The normal link color is the color people will see when they first visit your page. Click the color box and select the color you want for the normal link.
Visited Link – If someone clicks a link, it will turn the color you choose in this box. Click the color box and make your selection for visited links.
Hidden Page Properties
Meta Tags, Keywords – Enter keywords that have to do with your site in this box. For example, if your website is about dogs and cats, enter animals, pets, dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens in this box.
Once you have filled in all four tabs, click the OK button. Now go to the top of your window and click File > Save to save the changes.
