Tired of the same old birthday parties with that giant costumed mouse and the sweaty, overcrowded ball pit? Looking for something more energetic, artistic or astronomic? These six Long Island birthday party venues are all within close driving distance of Huntington, NY and take the work out of the party-planning.
2245 Route 110
Farmingdale, NY 11735
Packed tightly into a dozen acres, Adventureland is Long Island’s favorite local amusement park. While it is certainly more fun (and crowded) in the warmer months, Adventureland boasts an indoor arcade and restaurant that are open year-round. With more than 25 rides outdoors, there is something for everyone. Some of the tame rides allow the kiddies to ride cars in a circle (Tour de Paris) or ride the Viking Voyage boats. Teens will enjoy the splash-down of Adventure Falls and the thrills of the Hurricane Coaster. Families can enjoy some togetherness on the Swings or the Ferris Wheel.
Parties start at $18.95 per child for a minimum of 10 children. This includes one hour of unlimited rides, one hour for food in the party room (with your choice of hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken nuggets or pizza with French fries and soft drinks), invitations, hats, paper goods and a hostess in the party room. Add-ons for an extra fee abound, including extra ride hours, arcade tokens, a party coordinator to escort your group through the park, goody bags, balloons, cake, or your child’s name on the marquee.
46 Gerard Street #G
Huntington, NY 11743
Tucked into a bustling side street near the movie theater, Claytime is one of Huntington Village’s treasures. This is much more than the typical plastercraft birthday. Claytime is for the true ceramic artist. Shelves upon shelves of unfinished pieces are waiting for an artistic touch and a home of their own. Open hours allow artists with any level of talent live out their pottery fantasies. Two birthday party options are equally fun for the kids. The Picasso ($20 per child) offers an array of pieces such as airplanes, cars, skateboards, dogs, cats and jewelry boxes. The Michelangelo ($24 per child) offers even more usable pieces such as plates, mugs, bowls and containers in various shapes (the ice cream container is adorable!). Kids choose which piece they’d like to paint and party hostesses help them to create unique pieces of art. Claytime holds onto the items to allow for drying, firing and glazing, with pick-up available a week after the party. Also included in the price are invitations and a specially pre-decorated plate for the birthday child to take home after the party. Food is not included, however the party hostesses will set up, serve and clean up any food that you bring.
