Farrah Fawcett has returned to the hospital apparently losing her most recent battle with anal cancer.
Radaronline.com has reported that she was hospitalized in a Los Angeles-area hospital several days ago and is currently unconscious. Ryan O’Neal and her son, Redmond, late of a rehab center, are at her side.
She is currently in critical but stable condition.
Fawcett received alternative treatments in Germany including stem cell treatments. She had been termed cancer-free and then the cancer came back which as one might expect depressed her.
Farrah Fawcett went to Germany prepared to die but had considered making a documentary about her experience either way.
She apparently has entered the hospital in very bad shape with the cancer having spread.
Initially Fawcett had chemotherapy that appeared to work but then the cancer returned.
Farrah Fawcett became an icon in the early 1970’s when she was in the original “Charlie’s Angels” along with Kate Jackson and Jaclyn Smith.
Farrah Fawcett’s trademark hairstyle made her famous among men and women alike.
However, what really vaulted her into national prominence was a poster that was revealing although quite tame by today’s standards. Still, it was the most popular poster of its time and is worth a lot today.
Prior to her fame Fawcett was popular in a “smaller pond.”
I read numerous articles years ago about her days at North Texas University where she had already perfected her hairstyle.
Everyday she had classes back-to-back on opposite corners of the campus connected by a diagonal walk. Knowing the time, students would line the walk to get a glimpse of her.
People just figured that she would be a lightweight when it came to acting. She wasn’t.
Television shows such as “The Burning Bed,” “Between Two Women,” and “Nazi Hunter: The Beate Klarsfeld Story.”
Farrah Fawcett was married to Lee Majors (Six-Million Dollar Man) and went by the moniker Farrah Fawcett-Majors.
Fawcett for some reason decided to pose in Playboy in 1997, something aging sex symbols seem to do.
I have always been impressed with Farrah Fawcett’s acting abilities and I am very sad that she is in her current condition. I would have loved to see her do more dramatic work.
