“Kindred Spirits.” I love this saying, this is something my Irish grandmother would call two people who were meant to be together. Souls that find each other through out eternity. It is my guess that this wonderful woman had found that once in her life a long time ago. When she would say the words,”kindred spirit”, a serene and peaceful look would come to her face. The look was fleeting, and in a matter of seconds her face would return to it’s worn harshness that was earned from years of life’s roughness. I knew her husband, who was my grandfather, was not that “kindred spirit:” that she spoke of, but from the softening of her face when she spoke of one, I knew that somewhere in time she had experienced hers.
I use to ask my grandmother how do I find my “kindred spirit”? Her answer was always the same, “they will find you”. I do believe that there are souls, the energy that makes up our being, and that they are forever revolving in and out of life. Our soul takes on it’s own unique life each time it makes a return to life. The energy which is fueled by love remains strong between two souls and if you follow your instincts, you will find one another again.
Where does this journey start? Where do you find that magnificent love that is displayed for us in the old movies? In our busy lives that we have constructed for ourselves today, there is very little time to spend on anything that doesn’t come at us from the surface. We need to go much deeper than the surface and listen to our feelings, it is the only way to tap into your soul. Throughout life our soul alerts us with gut feelings that are really premonitions. Your dreams are snap shots and can be pieces of a puzzle that are meant to be put together. These things are all signs that are sent for a reason.
Have you ever gone somewhere and have been overwhelmed with a feeling that you have been there before? You need to pay attention to how you are feeling about the place. Are you experiencing joy ? Use that feeling as a type of radar. When you feel it for no reason again, you need to listen to it. You will met certain people as you walk through life and they will have an immediate effect on you. Listen to what your gut is saying. Is that person bringing on a feeling of warmth or happiness for you?
We have become a culture of face values. It is about everything you can see about a person. What kind of life style they are living or what their views of life are, these are the things we use as a measuring tool when setting out to find a partner. These things are relevant to a point, but it is your soul that you want to listen to when you are sizing up a potential love interest.
When you experience a strange urge to go somewhere or do something, listen to it. Urges are messages that are sent from our soul. It is a gut feeling we get that we need to follow. Gut feelings are there for a reason, just like the capability to hear or see, it is a sense, but we as a human race have not fine tuned enough to take it seriously.
Next time you are in the market to start the dating ritual that ideally will bring you to the mate of your dreams, use all your senses. Take the time and try and listen to your feelings, the deep ones that are coming through as you sit and talk with a potential love interest. You too can find your “kindred spirit”, or should I say, they will find you if you are open enough to realize it.
