BREAKING NEWS – The FBI has thwarted a terror attack in New York. Terrorists planted bombs outside of a synagogue – but they didn’t know bombs were fake. The bombs had been made by the FBI. The 4 are now under arrest. They has plans to bomb synagogues and military facilities.
Holiday Weekend – Hot News Quickies
We made it folks, it’s almost the official start of summer, Memorial Day Weekend. Many of you will be off for a beach vacation or a restful weekend in the mountains. Before you leave on your trip make sure your car is in trip read mode: check tire pressure, oil level, windshield washer fluid and of course fill up your tank. Drive safely and follow the rules – buckle up – as the law will be out in full force.
Entertainment – Hot News Quickies
* American Idol, which I don’t watch but my husband does, ended last night. All I heard was “I can’t believe Adam didn’t win”…so there you have my husband’s recap. Since he didn’t tell me who won I had to look it up – the winner was Kris Allen from Arkansas.
* On a more serious note, Natalie Cole, daughter of the late great Nat King Cole, under went a kidney transplant. She is resting comfortably and will resume her tour when she is able to.
Sports – Hot News Quickies
It was the Magic over Cleveland in game #1 in the East Finals.
Economy Troubles – Hot News Quickies
* Things are tough all over and don’t you just feel sorry for the rich folks in one town in PA – their country club is hitting an all time low. People who belong to the Uniontown Country Club now worry that they won’t have their usual king crab leg dinner as the restaurant traffic has slowed considerably. In order to make ends meet the lavish country club is allowing non-members into the dining room – this is a first. It seems there aren’t enough wealthy members left in the area to keep the crab legs flowing. Here’s your chance people of Uniontown, PA, go mingle with the rich folks who never have wanted you in their elite space before but they need you now to help pay the bills.
* How to beat the economic downturn, folks don’t try this! A New Zealand couple hit the big time when a bank erroneously deposited $6.1million (American dollars) into their account by accident. When the couple realized the error they withdraw some of the money and took off, they may be over here spending some of it to help our economy.
Finally, on a personal level, I made clout 7!!! It doesn’t seem that long ago I was ready to throw in the towel learning the ropes. I was spinning my wheels trying to figure things out. With the encouragement of several of you, and you know who you are, I hung in and I’m glad I did.
