Pet News – Hot News Quickies – Wednesday, July 15, 2009
There is a new carrier in the air and tails are wagging! The husband and wife team of Alysa Binder and Dan Wiesel have put a lot of time and money into Pet Airways – planes for pets. Pet Airways will fly a pet between five major cities: New York, Washington, Chicago, Denver, and Los Angeles for $250 one-way. It is comparable to pet fees at the largest U.S. airlines. A trip form New York to LA will take about 24 hours – a few potty breaks and snack times are thrown in. Pet Airways will be operating out of smaller, regional fields. Planes have been remodeled with about 50 pet carriers in place of the seats. Interesting!!
Strange News – Hot News Quickies – Wednesday, July 15, 2009
Bangkok is notorious for traffic jams and the powers that be have decided to install timers at busy intersections to let motorists know how long they have to wait for a green light. It seems the timers were installed to help drivers calm down if they have been waiting at a red light for a long time. I wonder how well this will work.
A Miss-Mosh of Tidbits – Hot News Quickies – Wednesday, July 15, 2009
* Jon, of Jon and Kate Plus 8, has been showing up all over with his new love. He was photographed in France holding hands with his 22 year old girlfriend. Funny, but he wasn’t smiling in those photos.
* Billy Mays is gone but not forgotten. He filmed new commercials right before his death and the company has decided to go ahead and use them. Other products that have pulled his commercials may reinstate them, one being Oxyclean.
* The All Star Game is over, the American League won 4-3.
* Gas prices are going down, again. Last week we paid $2.40, yesterday $2.31. How low will they go?
