Avoid trying to compare yourself to another person. Each person is different and work at different paces. Just because your friend may be all set and ready to go off to college does not mean that you have to be. Remember that if you start early enough getting what you need and getting your finances in order you will feel less rushed.

Some of the stress that teens face prior to leaving for college comes from leaving friends and family. If you take the time to do some fun stuff with those who are close to you, it will help to ease any anxiety. This will definitely help to lower your stress level. The last tip is to make sure that you ask for help when you needed. If you have friends and family than you have help. When you begin to feel things piling up and starting to stress you out, this is the time to ask for help. If you start to fall behind on getting what you need or getting paperwork filled out, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Your close friends should not mind helping you fill out a few papers, or driving you around to run some errands. You can even make arrangements to have someone come over to help you, move your items to your new college dorm. This will help to keep you from feeling too stressed out when things start to get backed up.
