Do you love ghost stories or do you enjoy searching for ghosts and haunted locations? If you answered yes to either of these questions then you may want to build your own haunted house. This haunted house will not be your funhouse variety with fake ghosts, monsters and ghouls, it will be a real house that has building materials selected that attract paranormal activity. While this type of house will not be for everyone, it can a “hell” of a good option for the supernaturally inclined.
Location, Location, Location
The first thing that you will want to do when building a house that will attract supernatural activity is find a prime location. Hauntings and paranormal activity tend to take place near running water, near granite outcrops, near quartz outcrops and near historically significant locations. Look for these things when selecting your home’s location.
Shape of Your House
While it is not a proven attractant, the shape of your home may play a role in attracting the supernatural. For example, housing designs from the New England area of the country seem to attract more ghostly activities than those found on the West Coast. Just think about the architectural styles found in notable haunted locations, such as lighthouses and the home from the Amityville Haunting.
If you want to provide your supernatural creatures with the energy to manifest then consider building fear cages into the design of your building. This should be done to only one room so that when you are not in the mood for a haunted experience you can get away from the fear cage. To create a fear cage you will want to have your electrician set up wiring around the room.
**A word of warning, fear cages can make you feel sick to your stomach, cause paranoia and produce other health problems.
Interior Design Products
Now for the interior design of your haunted house. Since it is assumed that granite and quartz are natural recorders of energy you will want to use them when finishing your home. For example, you can use granite tiles for your floors, you can install granite countertops and/or you can install quartz countertops. Finally, you can decorate your home with antique furniture and decorative items. These items may have spirits attached to them or they may attract the attention of local spirits.
Designing a house that will attract paranormal activity is not generally recommended for most people. However, there is a special demographic of people who will appreciate sharing their living space with those that have come before them. If you decide to build a hauntable house remember the old adage, “be careful what you wish for.”
