I wrote an article titled, “Make Sure to Register with the Right National Do Not Call Registry- Don’t Get Ripped Off!” As I said in the article, signing up on the REAL National Do Not Call Registry drastically cut-down on the number of phone sales calls I received. Recently, though, one number kept showing up on my home phone all hours of the day, and into the evening, clear up to midnight. When we’d answer the phone, there was no one on the other end. This constant phone ringing annoyed my family and me terribly. If you’re having a problem like this, read this informative article and learn how to figure out what company’s calling your phone and harassing you!
Figure Out the Name of the Company That’s Calling You and What They Want
I used to go to anywho.com, a popular online phone directory, and use their “Reverse Number Lookup” to find out who was calling. Sometimes the phone numbers were listed. Other times they weren’t. Even if you find out the name of the company using a phone directory, you still have to call the number to find out what they want. There’s a better way…
I found a website that can identify the company that’s harassing you, as well as
let you know why they’re calling you! The website is www.whocallsme.com. It’s free, easy-to-use, and it works like this: whocallsme.com is a user-driven “database of phone numbers of telemarketers, non-profit organizations, charities, political surveyors, SCAM artists, and other companies that don’t leave messages, disconnect once you answer, ignore the Do-Not-Call List regulations, and simply interrupt your day” according to the website. On their homepage is a handy list of “Recent Phone Call Reports”. There’s also a “phone number search” box. Simply key in the number of the company that’s been harassing you and hit the “Get Details” button. A phone number results page will appear. It will contain posts from other people who have been called by the same number. The posts give information such as who the company is, what they want, and so on.
What Companies Have Been Calling My Phone and Harassing Me Lately
When I keyed-in the phone number of the nagging caller on www.whocallsme.com, I was shocked to read the posts that identified the caller. It was- my health insurance company! They were calling about their “Dial-a-Nurse” program.
Then, I began getting three different phone numbers repeatedly calling my cell phone. A quick search on www.whocallsme.com revealed they were sales calls for car insurance and extended auto warranties.
