Vanessa Hudgens exudes a youthful sweetness that is appealing to just about everyone on the planet. Her tumbling, chocolate curls are an important part of her now world-famous celebrity look. Having Vanessa’s hairstyle is easier than you think.
Vanessa wears a layered look. You may need to get a haircut that gives you that fresh, layered look, too. If you already have a layered cut, make sure your hair is clean and trimmed of any split ends.
In order to achieve Vanessa’s wild, on-the-go hairstyle, you will need a good hairbrush, a flat iron and hair products that will help protect your tresses from damage caused by heat. I will talk more about hair protection products at the end of this article.
Heat the flat iron and spend a few minutes brushing out your hair. Removing any tangles will make the styling process easier. Your hair should be completely dry before applying the flat iron. Part your hair slightly to the right of center, sweeping the bangs to the left like Vanessa’s hairstyle.
Using the Flat Iron
Always use caution when using a flat iron or any other hair tool that uses heat. Keep it far enough away from your skin to prevent accidental burns. Taking a strand of hair about one-inch in width, start near your cheekbone and place the strand in the iron. Wrap the lock around the iron. The direction you wrap will determine the direction of the curl – toward or away from your face. Vanessa’s curls wrap away from her face. Once you have wrapped the lock around the iron, roll the iron a full 360 degrees. Now gently slide the iron down the length of the hair. At the cheekbone level, keep it in pace for 20 to 30 seconds. As you reach the end of the strand, keep the iron in place for 30 to 60 seconds. This will give fuller curls at the bottom. Thicker hair may need a little longer. Use the flat iron on the bangs to gently sweep them to the left of your face to get the fresh-faced look Vanessa exudes. .
A Word About Hair Protection Products
Vanessa takes care of her hair. You can tell by the full-bodied, healthy glow it always has. Many heating elements we use on our hair such as flat irons, curling irons and heat rollers can reach incredible temperatures. Using these tools even once in a while can damage hair. There are many products available to protect hair and repair damage. Before using flat irons, consider which product best suits your needs and work it into your regime. We all don’t have professional stylists at our beck and call and we don’t have a fortune to spend on hair and beauty products.
