Lots of people like art, but most of us can’t afford it. So I have a unique project that will allow you to fill your home with custom art and enjoy it without paying hundreds of dollars.
Here is what you need to do first, go to your local department store and find a puzzle that you like. Make sure it is under five dollars. This will help keep your art affordable. Or if you don’t want to pay that much, you can go to a yard sale. At yard sales you can usually buy a puzzle for under one dollar. Be sure that all of the pieces are there before you purchase the puzzle.
Now when you get home, and you have time to sit down and work on it, the easiest way to start is to separate all of the pieces. Start by taking all of the edge pieces (they are the ones that have straight lines on one of the sides) set all of the other pieces aside. Looking at the picture will help you find where all of the edge pieces go. When you are finished with the edge pieces, move on to the inner pieces. Separating the inner pieces by colors can really help you get done much quicker.
After your puzzle is complete look on the box and find out the size of the puzzle. Now you can go to your local department store and purchase a frame. Make sure the frame is slightly larger then the measurement of your puzzle, otherwise it will not fit properly. Next go down the craft isle and purchase some Modpodge glue, and a small paint brush. When you return home lay your puzzle on top of some cardboard. Take the paint brush and dip it into the Modpodge, apply a heavy coat of glue on to the front of your puzzle. Let it sit overnight. Now flip your puzzle over and put a heavy coat on to the back of your puzzle. Let it sit overnight. After the entire puzzle has been glued, pick it up and if it is flimsy you might need a second coat. If the puzzle seems sturdy, then you are now ready to insert it into the frame. After it has been framed, find a nice place on your wall to display it for everyone to enjoy. Now you have the perfect art for your wall, it cost less then ten bucks, and your friends and family will love it.
