There are so many ways to save money that it’s not even funny. But many young people feel like they are being looked at differently if they choose to use coupons to save money.
I myself am proud to say, I’m a 23 year old mommy of 3 and I clip coupons, I use online coupons, and I am not afraid to ask a company for samples.
In this article I will tell you how much I have saved at places such as the grocery store and how I do it!
First I started out by subscribing to my local newspaper (for me it’s The Baltimore Sun) Once I got my subscription I would get my coupons on Saturday and look over them to see if I wanted to buy an extra paper or two on my way home from church (they are $1.00). I go home clip out my coupons and organize them. When Thursday’s roll around my husband and I go grocery shopping at Shopper’s Food Warehouse (it’s where I worked as a teen and I love the store so I still shop there). I see what’s on sale and see if I have any coupons to go with the sale items (some stores triple coupons up to 50 cents, and some stores double up to 1.00). When you’ve got all your items in your cart and your coupons all figured out, head on up to the register and let them scan all your items. If your store has a Bonus type card let them scan it And then hand them your coupons! You’ll be amazed at how much money you can save if you just take an hour each weekend to clip your coupons out! My first shopping trip using a lot of coupons I save $32.00 in coupons! And whatever I save in coupons I transfer to my savings account so I don’t spend that money, I would have spent it had I not used my coupons.
A second way to save money is to price compare! I know several places do price comparisons and even let you use coupons on the items too (that’s a double bonus in my books). The first place I know that price compares would be WAL-MART and Bed Bath and Beyond!
You can ask your local stores such as grocery stores and other chain retailers like Target, Kmart, etc if they price compare. It is a great way to save money, even if it’s just a few dollars. I mean come on gas here in Maryland has gone down to $1.69 a gallon for regular gas If I saved $2.00 I can get a gallon of gas and then some with that for my truck.
There are just so many ways to save money that it’s not even funny!
If you are a big online shopper, just go to google.com, type in whatever store you want to buy from and then type in coupons (i.e. Babies R Us Coupons) and click search and you will come up with some great coupons that way!
So get to work on saving that money. Remember instead of spending that money transfer it to a savings account so you can actually see your efforts at the end of each month! Make a goal for your savings if you have too. I know I do or else it won’t get saved at all! My goal is to increase my savings by $10 each month! So say this month I wanted to save $50 next month I’d want to make an effort to save $60
Good Luck and happy shopping and Coupon clipping!
