Keeping hydrated is very important to me, and I often have a water bottle with me. I take water to sporting events, keep one with me when I am doing yard work, and my husband and I always take two water bottles when we are playing a game of golf.
Last summer I got tired of my water being warm half way through my golf game, and tried to add crushed ice to my water bottles before leaving the house. That was messy, but it worked okay, but now I have found something made just for water and sports bottles!
I found my “Icy Bottle Sticks”, made by Progressive International Corp, at my local Bed Bath & Beyond store. They have the neatest gadgets, I always find something I can use at their store!
The set comes with three white plastic trays, measuring 11 inches by 4 1/2 inches. Each tray makes ten ice sticks that measure 3/4 inches wide and 3 3/4 inches long. The bottom of the trays are rounded, the tops will be flat when the ice comes out. Ice freezes up quickly in these Icy Bottle Sticks trays, and the ice sticks are perfect for picnics and barbecues, and can be used all year round, not just during the summer months.
The trays are shiny and seem to be coated with something that allows the ice to pop right out very easily. All three trays can be stacked in the freezer, and only take up 2 inches in height! Because these can be a pain to clean, I’m glad the trays can be placed in the top rack of the dishwasher.
Useful Ice Sticks
What a great idea! So many people carry water bottles and sports drinks around with them these days, but when the drinks get warm they aren’t nearly as good. Now you can keep your drinks cold with these Icy Bottle Sticks! The fit perfectly inside any water bottles, just pop them out of the freezer trays, and slide them into your water bottle. Several sticks can fit inside the same water bottle, so I am assured my water will remain cold for hours!
