Next time, plan and pack a fresh piece of fruit. Maybe you ate that doughnut because you did not have anything else to do at three o’clock. Pack a piece of fruit and plan to take a daily walk. But wait, what if you just have to have that daily three o’clock doughnut? Sure, your plan is to lose weight by following your own guidelines. You may decide that within your course of losing weight, you want to have your daily decadent snack during the afternoon. Go for it! However, when making your written and mental notes, you have to acknowledge that you have to sacrifice something else at another time. You don’t need the diet gurus to tell you how or why to do this.
Losing weight is done by trial and error. You have to do what works for you. Understand that the best strategy is to incorporate a change in your eating habits. Just by changing that one daily doughnut to a piece of fruit could help you lose weight slowly. Those pounds will add up slowly over the year. Sometimes in order to become successful, all it takes is a change of mindset.
