In the Washington Nationals inaugural season, they were a nice team that competed until the very end but not much as gone good for the Nationals since that season. The main strength for the Washington Nationals is the left side of the field. The Washington Nationals’ newest acquisition, Adam Dunn, will be in left field. The Washington Nationals’ best returning player, Ryan Zimmerman, will be fielding third base. Lastings Milledge and Elijah Dukes were both highly touted prospects. If they are able to come through for the Washington Nationals then the outfield could be a strength.

The Washington Nationals improved an offense that finished 14th place in the National League a little bit with Adam Dunn. The pitching staff also finished 14th in the National League in 2009 and it has not been improved. It is possible the two teams behind the Washington Nationals in team ERA are more improved than the Washington Nationals. Dropping the Washington Nationals to last in the National League in pitching.

Ryan Church and Brian Schneider for Lastings Milledge looked like another blunder by the New York Mets but until he got injured Ryan Church looked like a better player than Lastings Milledge. Thanks to players like Ryan Braun and Dustin Pedroia fans expect prospects to be completely awesome right away and that just in’st realistic. If Lastings Milledge breaks out this season the Washington Nationals could at least score some runs on some teams.
