London offers so many hotel choices that choosing can be difficult. For most visitors to London there are two important criteria, the number one is price and the second is location. The Millennium Gloucester has both of these. Not to imply that this is a bargain priced hotel, it is not what it has is value for money spent. This is a good sized hotel with 610 rooms and suites. For a European hotel the rooms here are spacious. The standard rooms offer plenty of amenities and updated bedding. They are light and bright and provide a desk with space to work and comfortable seating. Bathrooms are large and have good sized tubs and plenty of towels and upscale toiletries. By moving up to standard plus you get a recently renovated room with a king size bed and more space. It is all up from here with suites with plenty of special amenities, Jacuzzi tubs and lots of space.
All the rooms come equipped with high speed internet access, flat screen TV with satellite, in room safe, minibar and coffee and tea service. There is a fitness center if you feel the urge to keep up with your regular fitness routine that offers treadmill and stationary equipment. There is Wi-Fi available in the lobby and on the first floor. If you need to use a computer but don’t have your laptop there is a business center.
Humphreys Bar offers light meals and also tea and coffee in addition to the usually available alcoholic libations. South West 7 is one of their two restaurants; they offer a varied menu that includes continental and Japanese choices. This is a family friendly restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. Bugis Street Brasserie service lunch and dinner and has Chinese cuisine.
You also have the option of dining at their sister hotel the Millennium Bailey where you can chose to dine at Olives or Bombay Brasserie. Across the street from the Gloucester there is a Starbucks if you are missing your latte and a small restaurant that also serves breakfast at a much less expensive price than the hotel.
There are several other restaurants in the neighborhood: a Garfunkels, a Tex-Mex, a pizzeria, a small convenience store, and a pub. This is a great location within easy walking distance of the South Kensington Museums and Hyde Park. If you would rather take the bus then the tube it is easy to grab one nearby.
