Warning to Chris Rock: Think twice about engaging in trysts with shapely blonds that you meet at the swanky Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. For such hookups could turn out badly, just like your encounter with Hungarian model Monika Zsibrita did. Monika Zsibrita has just gotten a judge to unseal a lawsuit she filed against Chris Rock back in August of last year. But that’s just the latest development in a salacious tale that, much to Chris Rock’s chagrin, just won’t go away.
Here is how the series of sordid events unfolded: According to the Los Angeles Times, In 1999 (a year after her sexual encounter with Chris Rock), Monika Zsibrita gave birth to a baby girl. Two DNA tests showed that Chris Rock was not the father. In 2000, Monika Zsibrita filed a report with the Beverly Hills Police alleging that Chris Rock raped her. She claims that she did not file the rape charges initially because she was ashamed; she says she finally mustered the strength to do so, however, after receiving encouragement from a rape counselor.
A paternity settlement with a confidentiality agreement attached was reached in 2000. Apparently, Chris Rock agreed to settle the case so he could put the mess behind him and stop Monika Zsibrita from making any unpleasant public accusations (read rape) that could jeopardize his career.
But then Monika Zsibrita filed another suit against Chris Rock in August alleging breach of contract and other charges. Monika Zsibrita says that she wanted to unseal the suit so that she could clear her name and tell her side of the story (a story in which, as noted in the Los Angeles Times, she has been portrayed as something of a gold digger). “My side has never been out. This has basically ruined my life,” said Zsibrita.
What may have irked Monika Zsibrita is the fact that, back in 2004, Chris Rock spoke about her and the case on the Howard Stern show. Rock said that their sexual liaison was consensual, that he had been setup and that the actual father of Monika Zsibrita’s child is the mastermind behind the shakedown, a man Rock described as a Nigerian hustler.
Monika Zsibrita is not the first woman to slap Chris Rock with a paternity suit. In 2007, Kali Bowyer filed a paternity suit against Rock alleging that he was the father of her then-13-year-old son. A DNA test, however, confirmed that Rock was not the father. Chris Rock then countersued to keep Bowyer from talking about the case.
