Scooter Review: First Choice of Motorized Scooters
The Honda Ruckus is our favorite although the suggested manufacture price is just over the $2,000 mark. However, that’s before negotiation with the seller. We have experience with dealers coming down in price by several hundred dollars to make a sale. Don’t go in there thinking this is the only place that sells the bike you want. At $2,000, you are still getting a good scooter for ½ the price of a Vespa. We like the Ruckus because it’s sporty, looks good but gets great gas mileage with reports of 100 mpg. Touring speed is around 47 miles. It has the oversize tires which we like for a smoother ride. It has a 49cc engine and is suggested at $2149.00.
Scooter Review: Second Choice of Motorized Scooters
Our second choice is another Honda, the Metropolitan. It has the Vespa look so there is an Euro sleekness to it but has very similar features to the Ruckus otherwise. It comes in at a little lower than the Ruckus in price. It has a 22 liter storage capacity which is nice for carrying gear such as a briefcase or backpack that needs protection from the elements. It has a 49cc engine and the manufacturer suggested price is $2,049.00.
Scooter Review: iScooter by RoadRunner
The iScooters are made by RoadRunner. This company is coming up in sales fast in the US. Their customer service can easily be reached and their parts are stocked in Dallas for fast shipping. These motorized scooters are made to be sold online. The larger 150cc engine needs insurance and a license in most states but you gain from the extra power. The scooters come fully assembled. You just take the scooter out of the crate (6 bolts), hook up the battery and install the mirrors, trunk and windshield in 25 minutes. Most dealers offer free tech service and even though you do some of the assembly, it doesn’t affect the warranty on the motorized scooter.
Scooter Review: Third Choice of Motorized Scooters

RoadRunner Retro Vespa iScooter is 150cc. It is not a Vespa but looks like one. It has plenty of legroom and comes with a cover, oversize trunk and tool kit with a two year warranty at $1,249.00 and includes free shipping with this dealer.
Scooter Review: Fifth Choice of Motorized Scooters
MPXY260T-4. This bike is a cross between a Vespa and motorcycle yet it looks good with plenty of power. It’s ETA and Dot approved with plenty of safety features along with a smooth ride, storage space and get-up and go. Maximum at 80 MPH and 70-100 MPG. It’s 250cc priced at $1,699.00 plus $300 shipping.
