Journey is an American Rock Band that originated in San Francisco, California in 1973. The original band members were Gregg Rolie, Neal Schon, George Tickner, Ross Valory, and Prarie Prince. Some other former members over the years were Aynsley Dunbar, Robert Fleischman, Steve Perry, Steve Smith, Stevie Roseman, Randy Jackson, Larrie Londin, Mike Biard, Bob Glaub, Steve Augeri, and Jeff Scott Soto. The bands current members are Neal Schon, Ross Valory, Jonathan Cain, Deen Castronove and Arnel Pineda. Neal and Ross are the only ones that still remain with the band since they were formed in1973.
Journey became very popular in the 1980’s and reached a height of popularity when their album Escape was released in 1981. This was their eighth and biggest selling album that went platinum. The band broke up between 1984 and 1994 and was reunited again in 1995. Journey has so many great songs. This song became very popular at proms.
Who’s Crying Now

The chorus of the song is “One love feeds the fire, One heart burns desire, I wonder, who’s cryin’ now, Two hearts born to run, Who’ll be the lonely one, I wonder, who’s cryin’ now”.
Faithfully was released in 1983, which was from their album, Frontiers and reached number 12 on the U.S. Top 100 Billboard Charts. The song is about a music man and his difficulties raising his children and keeping his family in tact while on the road and staying faithful. When he comes back home, he feels very happy because he stayed faithful.
Separate Ways (Worlds Apart) was released in 1983 and reached number 8 on the U.S. Top 100 Billboard Charts. Steve Perry and Jonathan Cain wrote the song. This song produced a great video that was very popular. The video for this song was filmed at the Louisa Street Wharf in New Orleans and featured over 50 camera moves.
Don’t Stop Believing
Don’t Stop Believing was from their album Escape which was released in 1981 and reached number 9 on the U.S. Top 100 Billboard Charts. The song is about “a small town girl, living in a lonely world and a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit”. They are searching for love and if they don’t find love the songs lyrics say, “Don’t Stop Believing and Hold onto that feeling”. On Journey’s Official Website it states, “On November 5, 2008, the song became the first catalog track in history to achieve online digital sales of more than 2 million units”.
Anyway You Want It
Anyway You Want It was released in 1980 from the album Departure and it reached number 23 on the U.S. Top 100 Billboard Charts. Steve Perry and Neal Schon sang this great song that began very popular and the band would often use this song to close their concerts.
