Some of us have this thirst for knowledge and TV can be a great source to quench this thirst. TV and Internet are filled with a vast knowledge base, for those of us who just cannot get enough of some of today’s hottest new Nature shows. The National Geographic channel, whoever knew they had their own, offers just this. Running 24/7 so us addicted little addicts can get our fix just when we need it.
Maybe your list will differ a bit from mine but here goes my list of some of the best TV shows the National Geographic Channel has to offer us thirsty knowledge freaks.
Naked Science is ready to provide you with information about just about everything to do with science. Welcome yourself to new information about Saturn or Jupiter. You can gawk at the television, in the comfort of your own home, while learning what this show can throw at you. Go farther then our own backyard and introduce yourself to this information, varying from time travel to the deadliest planets. If you are into space, or want to learn more about it, even if you are fascinated by it this show is the perfect fit.
Dogtown is for the animal lovers. This show is for those of us who have a heart for the poor dogs that just need somewhere to go. Somewhere that will treat them as they should be treated. Get this, Dogtown took in Micheal Vick’s dogs, you know the ones he was dog fighting. Dogtown is an animal shelter taking in dogs with a no kill policy. Dogtown is in Utah, on 33,000 acres of land to make these pooches happy. Dogtown is the place for neglected and abused dogs to find their place. Dogtown also tries to find these poor dogs a home. Dogtown, the show, is all about the large ranch, their dogs they take in, the loving people that care for them, and much more. This show is a must watch. Quickly making its way into your heart, it will not take long to fall in love.
If you are a man then World’s Toughest Fixes might just be the show that hooks you. Follow Sean Riley, an engineering enthusiast, around and watch him fix some of the biggest machinery . For example a nuclear turbine, yes, you read it right, a nuclear turbine. I think I will stick to something safer, but it is fun to watch.
Taboo, is not for the squeamish, this show brings some of your worst thoughts to life. They currently have an episode airing where someone tattooed the whites of his eyes, why I do not know. You might have to tune in for that one. This show is not recommend for children to watch so careful, although an interesting watch. Tune in to this show to see different cultures do some things that will make us cringe just watching it. Somehow though I can not seem to change the channel.
Dog Whisperer, a show most everyone has at least heard of, lets you tune into to watch Caesar help ” talk” to dog. He has this sense that just helps him get through to even the most stubborn of dogs. This show gives great tips for the dog owners out there.
Morphed will guide you on your search for knowledge about evolution. If you are interested in science then this is the show for you.
Explorer has recently gotten me hooked. If you are looking for some across the World exploring, tune into this National Geographic show. This show varies from tracking down illegal immigrants to the working of an oil tanker. Set your DVR.
Rhino Rescue, a new mini about the desperation to save the, less then, 4,000 Rhinoceros’s left in the World.
Giant Crystal Cave is the show for you if you are interested in seeing something, completely different. This show had it’s own style of flare. Watch as the team of the show goes into Crystal Cave, a whopping 120 degrees, and document their findings.
Are you a C.S.I. fan? Then America’s Port is right up your alley, Imagine C.S.I. on the water, sounds interesting doesn’t it. Tune in and you will not be disappointed.
