The days of thinking of perverts as dirty old men in trench coats hiding behind the bushes is gone. The pedophiles, child molesters and pornographers have largely gone high-tech, along with the rest of the world. Unfortunately, today’s high-tech world makes it even easier for child molesters to hide and lure children into dangerous situations.
As an example, A Wisconsin Justice Department special agent posed as a fourteen-year-old boy and entered a chat room. It did not take long before he received a response to his disguised identity. After chatting with the individual for about an hour, they made arrangements to meet in person for the purpose of having a sexual encounter. The surprise to this story was the identity of the pervert. The special agent along with other members of the Wisconsin task force, waited patiently for the arrival of their child molester. Once he arrived, the special agent was surprised to learn that the man was known by him and was a member of his church, in fact, he was the religious teacher of his children and he had seen the man just that morning in church. Since that day, this special agent has lured and arrested priests, teachers, police officers and even a mayor.
It is clear to see that perverts don’t look any different from anyone else. Many times they are people who are in high-ranking positions within our communities and many are highly regarded. Of course, there is always an element of the very secretive, unemployed pedophile who has no interest in society, but lives only to satisfy his addiction to pornography.
Because so many predators of our children seem perfectly normal, it can be very difficult to profile them. They come from every walk in life. They can be your next door neighbor or your Uncle Harry. They can even be your pastor or priest, your doctor or teacher, your basketball coach or even your own father.
One thing that predators seem to have in common, however, is an addiction to pornography. So many young men have looked at the pictures in “girly” magazines and found they could not get the images out of their head. They found themselves being drawn back to the pictures again and again and then the desire for something even more depraved seems to take over. Pornography addiction is much like a drug addiction. Once you try it, you want a little more and then you find you no longer have control over it, but it has you. Addictions are like that, whether it is an addiction to food, drugs, alcohol or pornography. Pornography is one of the worst addictions because there seems to be no bottom to the pit of depravity.
Because this world is so full of people who have this type of addiction, I would like to offer some help to anyone who truly wants it. People who are trapped in the addictive snare of pornography are only one step away from becoming a pedophile or a rapist and therefore, a felon. The things you look at privately in your own home or in your place of work, will not remain in private. The addiction will grow until you begin to act out the awful things you have chosen to feed upon and then it will control you.
Here is a list of some sites on the Internet where you can find the help you need to break the addiction:

How to Deal With Your Sexual Addiction
There are many places where you can find help to break the addiction to pornography. Some men and women (yes, women) can find the help they need within their own church, but many choose to get help among people and services where they are not known. Pornography brings much shame into the life of the addict.
The chains of any addiction can be broken but it will take a lot of work and commitment; the work is worth the end-result, however. There is hope for a pure heart and mind and there is help for anyone who really wants to find it.
