I’ve had new Soap & Glory Clean Mary Cleansing Milk for quite some time now, however, before reviewing facial cleansing products, I like to try them daily for at least a month before going off with an opinion on them. Besides, you cannot trust a review by someone who only used the product once or twice.
Soap & Glory is one of my top favorite bath and body designers at this time, with gracious and addicting products I am rarely disappointed.
Soap & Glory Clean Mary Cleansing Milk is designed for facial cleansing. It was primarily made for those with combination skin. For me this was perfect, because on my forehead I tend to get oily skin, and near my nose the skin is much drier. Finding a product to work with both issues is difficult, but Clean Mary promised just that.
Clean Mary is designed to keep skin clean, and to brighten the skin. A nice benefit that most facial cleansers promise right? However Clean Mary actually comes through with their promise. After a month of using Clean Mary twice daily, I can definitely vouch for it, and say that daily use has definitely shown an improvement in my skin.
The cleanser itself comes in a cute retro pump bottle, with a retro black and white photo of a young woman on the label whom is touching her cheeks. The pump applicator is appreciated as well because it makes application easier, and you have control over how much or how little of the cleanser you want to use. With 6.1 ounces of cleanser, there is more than enough to last 2 or 3 months of daily use.
Now on Target.com it states that the cleanser has no scent, however that description is wrong, because Clean Mary does have a scent. You will notice the original Soap & Glory scent subtly trying to poke through, but a much more jacuzzi spa like scent takes the main center stage as far as fragrance goes.
I would not at all call this one scentless though. There is a scent, it is recognizable, and it’s not quite as nice as other Soap & Glory products, but hey, the cleanser does the trick, so there are no complaints on my end.
My face is also prone to break outs, and sometimes using different products on my face can result in pimples. Clean Mary however did not cause any breakouts, did not leave behind any weird feeling residue, or anything of that nature. The cleanser is soft, yet it has very, very fine micro-scrubs within the cleanser, which cleans deeply without being harsh.
Soap & Glory Clean Mary Cleansing Milk is a nice addition to an already striving collection of products. It cleans the face, leaves it feeling very fresh, and over time definitely improved the overall appearance of my skin. I recommend it highly, and will be picking up another bottle as soon as I run out.
Clean Mary is a little pricey at $13.99 per bottle; however you could spend triple that on Olay products that work just as good. Therefore Clean Mary is cheap compared to the competition facial cleansers.
