I’ve been looking forward to an Indian meal for over a year now, so when I finally got the chance to visit an Indian restaurant, I was stoked. When I learned we were just in time for the buffet, I nearly lost it. All you can eat Indian food is about my idea of Heaven. If you agree, head down to KhaZana Indian Grill in Oklahoma City
KhaZana Indian Grill in Oklahoma City
I can only assume that the hole-in-the-wall Indian restaurant is a stand alone. With no website, KhaZana Indian Grill advertises on word of mouth alone, which appears to be working for them based on the number of OKC newspaper reviews pasted along the wall. You’d never guess the nondescript building within the Mayfair Plaza would hide such delicious fare.
Inside, KhaZana’s looks like many Indian restaurants, though perhaps slightly less formal during buffet time. The dim lighting and warm Indian music create the perfect environment for chomping down on delicious Indian food.
Delicious Indian Fare in Oklahoma City
When it comes to buffets, I understand that many restaurants choose to trade a small amount of quality for quantity. KhaZana’s, however, does not. The Indian restaurant’s buffet food was on par with any formal Indian dinner I’ve ever had. The buffet included about a dozen items, including 2 types of rice, 5 or 6 meat dishes and a number of vegetarian sides. There was also a dessert bar, but I was too full to check it out. Trying to show some restraint with my meal, I opted not to attack every dish, instead choosing the Chicken Tikka Masala, both rice dishes, some grilled chicken and of course, some Naan bread. The food was excellent. The fresh Naan bread was soft and warm and soaked up my masala perfectly. The meat was flavored with a dozen spices and the rice was good enough to eat by itself.
A Friendly Staff at KhaZana Indian Grill
Though it was a buffet, the wait staff was super attentive and always available to refill the buffet, take our plates and refill our drinks.
Great Food, Great Price
My biggest beef with Indian food is how pricey Indian restaurants can be. At KhaZana’s, the food was well priced. Not only was our buffet a great deal at $8 a piece, the entrée prices were equally cheap, with no dish over $12.95.
