You know you want to teach your kids how to clean. However, teaching your kids how to clean can be a challenge. I know that I had to teach my kids how to clean and I did find several tips that have helped me in teaching my kids how to clean. I know that the methods that I have used worked really well for my kids and now they help clean like a champ. One of my most effective methods though in teaching my kids how to clean though was by making a chart.
You might be asking Kim how the heck is a chart going to help me teach my kids how to clean. I mean come on all it is is a little piece of paper with some graphs on it. I do not know many kids that will learn how to clean from a chart.
Well rest assured a chart will help you teach your kids how to clean. I know that for my kids the chart provided them a reference point. Now since they are still under the age of five I cannot have them with a lot of the harder job, but the jobs that they have while my kids learn how to clean are small enough that they are able to do them with little to no help.
So to start your chart off you will need a graph of some sort the graph. Now I recommend using the simple graph that you can put stickers on the spot when your kids have finished with that task. I know that for my kids since they are still young they absolutely love having stickers put on the chart! The stickers for younger kids or pen marks for older kids will help them remember what task they have already completed. There is nothing worse than teaching your kids how to clean and have them keep repeating the same task over and over!
Depending on the age of your child your chart will be filled out with the days of the week on the top and the tasks going down the side of the chart. For younger kids the task will be in the form of pictures. The pictures will teach your kids what the task is so it also benefits them in helping them learn words! I know that for my kids they are now starting to be able to name off the task that needs to be done and on what day it needs to be done! Another form of a chart to use while teaching your kids how to clean is have the days of the week and a picture below that of what task needs to be done on each day. Then cover that task up on that day as needed.
Teaching your kids how to clean is not that hard now that I have been using this method. I know that if I didn’t have this method I would probably still be trying to teach my kids how to clean. Hopefully if you are able to find a method similar to mine or the exact same you will be able to teach your kids how to clean to.
