Wow! I am not trying to claim that I went from fat to think in one week, three days, but I definitely shed some weight. My clothes are definitely fitting a little better and my energy is also a lot better! Who would have thought a few simple changes could add up to such a big difference in such a short period of time.
I got on the member’s forum today to see how others were doing at this time in the program. The forum is broken down into a number of different sections, so you can post your progress, comments or questions for all to benefit from. I posted in the week one section, since I just completed week one and let everyone know how much weight I lost, and how I was feeling much better than I did the first few days, and also how much weight I lost. What was of bigger interest to me, was how everyone else was doing, because of course I wanted to see how I was measuring up. It seemed that most members on the forums were doing similar. Most people had more energy and have had weight loss at this stage. A few people were going through some withdrawal symptoms such as tiredness or irritability from giving up caffeine, but the majority seemed to be doing just fine.
My boyfriend even mentioned to me today that he could tell I was dropping weight (which was really nice for him to acknowledge). He also made a joke, alluding to the fact that he couldn’t believe I was sticking to this. I am a self professed carb-a-holic and choco-holic, so this has been a huge shift for me without question.
For anyone who has been following these postings, I definitely had a few “moments” last week that I talked myself through, but this week, I seem to be doing great. I was at the gas station today paying for gas in my truck, and I was standing behind a young girl with a big, colorful slurpee. I acknowledged the fact that it was there in my mind, but I did not feel as tempted as I was last week in similar but different situations around food, so not only is my body making progress, my mind is now starting to catch up. I’m not sure what kind of temptations are in the week’s ahead, but for today, I am happy with where I am at. I am down 8.5 pounds in 10 days. I know at this stage, the majority is water, since that is the drill at the beginning of any weight loss program. However, regardless of what it is, the good news, is it is not on my body, so I will step on the scale and acknowledge where I am at!
