Jonathan and Margie were in the world together and yet in their own worlds too. After Margie got that email, in part one, that should not have arrived in her inbox, she thought the problem of an exclusive relationship was solved. Why would that actually solve anything? In her mind, the discovery of Jonathan not being 100% with her, now sent the other relationship balloon with a pin in it, streaming to nothingness. Oh Margie, what a dreamer, you are! The other woman was brought up in conversation between them. It was out in the open. At least Margie’s openness. Jonathan was caught, or was he? He did not think another thing about that in his narcissist way. The uncovering of the other woman was Margie’s doing, not Jonathan’s. A mistake was made, but it was not his, it was hers.
All was good in Margie’s heart again with Jonathan at the core. The clue here is that Jonathan never was removed, but instead put on hold until things were settled. The discussion settled things for Margie while she moved onward to the next boulder that unexpectedly, awaited her. When Margie let Jonathan into her life, she brought her thoughts of him surrounded with excuses for anything he did. Remember Jonathan is never at fault for any wrong doing. It is someone else that is to blame, not Jonathan.
As the cooler evening arrived our couple retreated to a cozy fireplace indoors. The evening began with Elvis’ songs playing in the background, harmonizing with the crackling logs, while they conversed. Ringing of the phone interrupted their words so they both were silent. Jonathan was fit, however getting up from the low couch took a couple of rings that put the caller on a message machine. Jonathan did not have a hearing deficit, so the volume was usual. Margie’s hearing was impeccable. By the time Jonathan got to the machine, many words were said that tugged at Margie’s trusting heart once more. Jonathan had turned the female voice down several notches, which were still audible to Margie’s excellent audio capabilities. Rhonda’s subtle words turned into a long message to Jonathan, ending with “I love you”. By this time, Margie was covered with a black cloud of doubt that took her voice. She was unable to speak. Jonathan was visibly upset, showing that characteristic by passing back and forth. His facial expressions revealed sights that neither of them were ready to address as Rhonda ended her message.
Jonathan’s voice was taken away too. When Margie finally regained her vocal abilities, she remained silently sitting, not knowing how to tackle this infringement on her happiness. Silence was broken by Margie when she spoke by asking questions to help her understand what was just heard from Rhonda. This was not Jonathan’s fault. Jonathan and Rhonda lived together for 8 years, culminating in Jonathan asking Rhonda to leave. Margie had been told this beforehand. Now the voice, on the phone, came alive to fit the stories Jonathan had told about Rhonda. Rhonda said she forgave Jonathan and called to let him know she was ready to begin anew with him. Margie, with a lump in her throat, asked Jonathan if he knew how important he was to her? His voice was not working, so he nodded his head, yes. Margie continued, she needed to have him explain what her ears just heard. Margie said how her investment in Jonathan had been with all she was capable of giving. She then asked if he was aware of that fact. Again, Jonathan nodded, yes. Now the pause left the ball in Jonathan’s court. He said Rhonda was in fact the woman he lived with for 8 years and now would take him back even though he was not willing. Margie was instrumental to open this communication. Jonathan did not seem to take this bull by the horns, which caused Margie some concern. Margie’s dreams were drifting, which is why she had to openly address her heartfelt questions.
Margie believed Jonathan’s words. She understood Jonathan could not control who called him. Margie was good at opening that book of excuses and picking one out that was appropriate. All was settled between them once again, or was it? The past with Rhonda was over because of Jonathan’s saying it was. The next boulder was not far behind this couple. Neither of them were aware of what possibly could bring discord to this healed relationship.
