My top 3 Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in television history were the big reasons why I watched their game shows so much! These top 3 Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in television history include one man who really liked to smooch on the women contestants. My top 3 Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in television history are listed by order of their first wins. One of these tv shows is really special for me because I actually auditioned to be on it. To find out what happened with that experience, read on…
Top 3 Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in Television History Selection Number 1: Peter Marshall for The Hollywood Squares (First win was 1974, and also won in 1975, 1980-81).
What I liked best about Peter Marshall, who hosted the Hollywood Squares from 1966-81, according to Wikipedia, is that he was so unassuming, but had a quiet authority over the program. He proudly talked about his son Pete LaCock, who was a professional baseball player for teams like the Kansas City Royals in particular. I actually flew to the Los Angeles area to audition to be on this game show in 2003, but didn’t get chosen. It was an interesting experience to say the least as us game show contestant wannabes played some mock contests to help in choosing the contestants, which we were told to act really enthusiastic.
Top 3 Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in Television History Selection Number 2: Richard Dawson for Family Feud (First and only win was in 1978).
Richard Dawson’s dry British humor was really helpful in making Family Feud one of my favorite game shows to watch as a kid, especially when one of the contestants gave some stupid answer to a survey question. Dawson would often deflect such an answer with some funny remark that didn’t make the contestant feel like such a dope. And of course, I found his “kissy wissy” ways about him to be entertaining — the way he’d smooch on the female contestants. He was certainly an equal opportunity kisser during his hosting of the program from 1976-85 and 1994-95, according to Wikipedia.
Top 3 Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in Television History Selection Number 3: Bob Barker for The Price Is Right (First win was in 1982, and also won in 1984, 1987-88, 1990-92, 1994-96, 2000, 2002, 2004, 2007).
Bob Barker really knew how to connect with the audience and the contestants on the show, and his enthusiasm helped the hour long program of the The Price Is Right go by so fast. I also liked it when he ended the program by advising pet owners to get their pets spayed or neutered to help keep the pet population under control. Barker also knew how to keep his composure around really hyper game show contestants! He can truly boast that he’s been a Daytime Emmy Award Winners for Outstanding Game Show Host in television history selection some 14 times during his 36 calendar years of hosting The Price Is Right, from 1972-2007, according to Wikipedia!
