This the latest book in the Sisterhood series about some women who formed a group who do things a bit differently when the law does not work the way it should. They defend the ones the law can’t and do their own bit of justice when the law won’t. They do what no one else can or will. They are the Sisterhood.
Charles Martin, who is the one who is the leader of the Sisterhood, has a feeling that something is wrong and later gets information about a friend. He leaves in the dead of night, heading towards Europe, leaving behind the Sisterhood. The Sisterhood make the decision to find someone to replace Charles until he returns. The decision is made to make Annie de Silva the head of the organization and they receive their first call to help. They are needed to help Pearl Barnes, who is a retired judge, and her mission to save some girls who are pregnant. These girls were heading to a polygamist compound when their bus crashed.
At this compound, everything that these girls owned were the Prophets. They are given to men where they must submit to their rule and give birth. It also appears that there are some who managed to leave the compound and are willing to do what it takes to get their children away. The Sisterhood go into action so they can help these women and do their brand of justice. As they do what they have to. Pearl is making her escape with the girls, not knowing that one of them is betraying them. Can Pearl do what she has to save these girls? Can she find out who is betraying them before the Prophet finds them?
The Sisterhood will have a lot riding on this mission, as they are without Charles for the first time, and they have to figure out what they need to do to save the women and the mission. They will need all their available resources, their wits, what they have learned over the years, and much more to be able to beat this man that they they call the Prophet. They know what they need to do, but can they do it without the help that they once had?
Fern Michaels has done it again with the newest novel in the Sisterhood series. She has a way that keeps you intrigued and interested in the stories and the people that are involved.
