Container gardening is the ideal solution for those who do not like weeding or cannot physically take care of a conventional garden, and container gardening is also a fantastic solution for renters. I have physical disabilities, and although I love flowers and fresh veggies I cannot physically take care of a large flowerbed or garden, even with a tiller and hand tools of the highest quality. Instead, I chose container gardening because weeds are far fewer and easier to pull, and the containers are up off the ground and easier to reach. Container gardening also provides countless unique decorating options for outdoor spaces. In the past I spent hours weeding a conventional flowerbed, and I paid for it dearly. With container gardening I can sit on the ground and take care of my vegetable plants and unique flower arrangements, and I can have the beautiful live plants I want without all of the work that comes with conventional gardening. The following unique container gardening ideas are some that I have used and plan to use around my outdoor oasis.
Container Gardening with Flowers and Unique Outdoor Decor
Beautiful flowers planted alone in a container are lovely and eye-catching, but flowers planted in a container around a statuette or weather-resistant ornaments are even more impressive. When looking for unique container gardening ideas, consider placing a small concrete statue in the center of a container filled with soil, and plant your favorite flowers around it. Any weather-safe statuette or a unique trinket can be placed in the center of a large container garden. The flowers will help highlight the outdoor decor and the statuette or trinket will also highlight the flowers in a unique and striking way.
Make a Unique Tiered Vegetable Garden in Containers
When container gardening, planters can be stacked to create beautiful tiered displays that are practical and eye-grabbing, and best of all they take up very little space. Place the largest planter on the bottom, and fill it with rich organic soil and a variety of orange and red cherry tomato plants. In the middle container, plant bell peppers or Chinese eggplant surrounded by a ring of leaf lettuce. In the top container, consider planting cilantro, parsley, or another favorite herb or a variety of herbs. The colors will look amazing, and you will have a unique stacked garden that is easy to care for, and best of all it will produce all summer long.
Create a Unique Rainbow of Flowers
A rainbow is one of nature’s finest displays of beauty, and a rainbow of flowers makes a stunning display. When container gardening, consider selecting a very large planter, and fill it with flowers in every main color of the rainbow and in the correct order. Select flowers of approximately the same height. Select just one, two, or three flowers of the same color, and place them accordingly. Do not be concerned with open areas. With proper care and plenty of water, sunshine, and fertilizer applied according to product label instructions, the flowers and foliage will soon fill in any open areas and create a gorgeous display unlike any other beneath the never ending sky.
