I have no idea when this trend started, but is spiraling out of control and spreading like a wildfire. The trend that I’m referring to is teen pregnancy. Pregnancy is beautiful, but not while you are in your teens and still attend high school. Has anyone been watching The Maury Povich Show? I have. In episodes featuring teenage girls who want to have babies, these girls are so desperate to have babies that they go through extreme measures. Most of them claimed to have had sex with more than one guy. When asked what they will do to have money, most of them said that they would commit robbery, become prostitutes, or sell drugs. Two girls in particular episodes said that they would go on welfare.
Here’s the question: what in blazes do you know about raising and taking care of a baby when you are a baby yourself? Most of these girls proclaimed that they were grown and that they could whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted. And that nobody was going to stop them, not even their parents. Now, about the two girls that said that they were going to go on welfare: they have no idea how difficult it is for taxpayers these days. It’s hard enough to take care of your own family, especially kids. But then, you have to find out that you are also having to care for a kid belonging to someone who refuses to own up and be responsible.
This is a major pain. Not only are you holding your parents down, you are holding everybody else down. If I make any money, I certainly don’t want any of it going to someone who is young and irresponsible when it comes to taking care of another life. Babies don’t ask to be born. Most teenage girls who get pregnant end up ditching their babies in places where not even an animal should be placed. One girl ditched her baby in a toilet. The sad factor is that it’s the babies who suffer. In one episode, there was a teenage guy and girl who claimed that they were ready to have a baby. They had everything from baby clothes to formula. However, when they were being tested on their parenting skills with real babies, they failed miserably. Raphael B. Johnson was not pleased and said that he could not stand back and watch the babies suffer anymore. This teen couple was clueless. When you are young, you have no parenting skills or knowledge on what to do if a baby starts crying.
Another thing that struck me was when Maury asked the girls what names they selected for their babies. One girl could not spell out the name of her baby if it was a boy. She even claimed that all of her jewelry, clothes and shoes were bought with money she took from men. Her mother, in a disgusted and furious fit, snatched her daughter’s hat right off her head. If that was my daughter, I would do more than snatch her hat off her head. I would have shot through the roof faster than a lightning bolt.
Another girl from a different episode claimed that she went searching through other people’s trash for baby clothes. I can certainly say, that those items looked nowhere near clean. Raphael B. Johnson was so disgusted that he snatched the trash bag from her and dumped the baby clothes and shoes onto the stage floor. Talk about it being a health hazard. Of all places to look for baby clothes, why trash belonging to someone else? Not only is it unhealthy, but it is nasty. I don’t think she had a clue as to how long those baby items were sitting in the trash collecting all sorts of germs. Raphael said it best in this quote directed to her: “This is some nasty stuff. Look at this. This nasty. This stuff wouldn’t last two days with children. You would give them an infection and bacteria. And you would then be sick and you would be in hospital” (sorry if I did not get it correct.
Another episode featured a fourteen year old girl who claimed to already be pregnant. She said it like this, “I might be pregnant right now!” Maury read her pregnancy test. To her mother’s and sister’s horror and disbelief, she was indeed pregnant. Before her, her big sister was out-of-control and wanted a baby herself. But she saw the light and decided to change her wild ways. Dwayne West, a motivational speaker, was not very pleased with her at all. She took this as a joke. Life is not a joke when a baby is involved. They are not dolls that you can put away once you feel that you are exhausted, They are human just like you.
Other girls who wanted to get pregnant stated that they did not care who the baby’s father was. It takes two to tango, therefore it takes two to have a baby. It is not the job of other hard-working citizens to pay for your children. The responsibility is yours. Most guys who come for DNA testing claimed not to be the father. One teen girl who was previously wild and out-of-control, brought a guy on the show to prove that he is her baby’s father. The guy said that because the girl was with different men, it is impossible for him to be the father. The DNA test was read, and unfortunately, he was not the father. I wonder how these teen girls who wanted to have children would feel after hearing these five words: You are not the father.
From Raphael B. Johnson to Brenda (former prostitute) to Dwayne West (motivational speaker) to Mad Dog (former prison inmate) to Dave Vitalli, all it took was scaring some reality and common sense into these girls and to show them how their lives would turn out for the worst. For the girls who said that they were going to prostitute themselves for money, they were introduced to a former pimp who tells them that once the money came in, it belonged to him. Most of them were sent to baby boot camp where their parenting skills were tested. One girl who wanted three kids by the time that she was sixteen, was caught wiping the baby from back to front. That is a big no-no. The reason why this should never be done, especially on a girl, is because that is how urinary tract infections are caused. She even used profanity. Another parenting no-no.
This other episode featured a girl who sexually active in order to get pregnant. Raphael addressed her in this quote said here: “You know young lady? If you keep doing what you’re doing, it’s not guaranteed that you will have a baby. It is guaranteed that you will definitely meet some new friends. The “friends” that he was referring to were Sexually Transmitted Diseases which consisted of trichinosis, gonorrhea, herpes and their cousin HIV. He even told her that she was not a prostitute, but a prostitot.”
The difference with her versus the other girls is that her father and mother appeared on the show. On a Maury episode featuring promiscuous, violent teenagers, there is rarely a male figure. Most of these episodes feature the mother, aunt, older sibling or the grandmother. The teen girls usually talk up a tough game and it is the same old, same old: “Shut up! Shut up! You don’t know me! You don’t know me!” and a whole lot of silliness that comes with this display of stupidity.
Speaking of grandmothers, I feel sorry for them because the teens embarrass and put them to shame. In one episode, one grandmother was bound to wheelchair. Her granddaughter was literally disrespectful towards her. Here’s a lesson to be learned: Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. In two episodes I have previously watched, there were two teen girls who already had babies. But, they did not mature and change their wild ways. They continued to drink, smoke weed, be sexually active, and leave their kids with their mothers. One girl claimed that her baby son annoyed her so much that she would tell him to shut up. She admitted that she would refuse to change his diaper and that she would rather be hanging out with her friends than caring for her son. She definitely was not ready to be responsible for another life.
Once you have a baby, it is not your life anymore. Babies cannot be your friends. They cannot provide you with love. They cannot hang out with you. It is your job to love the baby, not the other way around. If you are not mature enough, do not have kids. And do not rely on taxpayers money either. They cannot support their families and yours at the same time. This trend needs to stop immediately.
